My First Appearance....Today!
Well, I took the advice of Miss Claire Buffie on how to seek events to attend and…..VOILA! I have one…tonight! I was waiting to tell you because it all depended on whether or not I could get off work (stinkin’ jobs!).  There is an incredible organization called Friends of the Children NY that is celebrating it’s  first 10 years. Friends of the Children studies...

Safe Horizon
I am just one step away from becoming a Child Advocacy Center volunteer! I was finally able to get through to one of the Corporate Office Volunteer Coordinators and we are getting the ball rolling. Safe Horizon has centers in Staten Island, Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan- perfect for Miss New York City!  The volunteer coordinator is currently trying to find out where I would be best utilized and...

missmanhattan2011: Thanks to Kaitlin Davis’ re-blog of a poem, I was introduced to She’s the First. She’s the First is an non-for-profit organization that helps raise funds to send girls to school in the developing world. They are currently running a “Voice your Verse” campaign where they have asked people to…

I'm So Happy!
Wow. Yesterday was a whirlwind and the pageant went by so quickly, but I am so excited to be representing New York City! There were 24 girls competing in the Southern Region Triple Crown yesterday and each one of them truly deserved a title. The level of competition in the state of New York is increasing drastically year by year and I attribute that largely to Kaitlin and Claire making huge...
